Rulebook

The UrbanMind Rulebook defines the main principles and rules for all participants of the UrbanMind data space. It explains how the data space works, who can join, what roles exist, and how participants are expected to handle data and collaboration.

The rulebook ensures that everyone in the UrbanMind ecosystem, follows the same standards for data sharing, security, and trust.

Governance

The UrbanMind data space is operated by 3fs, acting as the Data Space Operator. 3fs is responsible for:

Riko serves as the Onboarding Coordinator, helping new participants join the data space.

The municipalities of Kranj and Pula are the initial participants and use cases of the data space.

Onboarding process

Joining the UrbanMind data space is currently a manual process.

Onboarding is handled by Riko, one of the founding partners and participants of the data space.

To join:

Onboarding is currently manual, but will be automated in the future through the UrbanMind portal.

Participant Roles

Every user in UrbanMind has one of the following roles. These roles define what actions the user can take and what data they can access.

Role Description
Data Producer Provides data to the data space. For example, a municipality sharing traffic or environmental data.
Data Consumer Uses data from the data space to build applications, run analytics, or create visualizations.
Participant Administrator Manages users and access rights for their organization.
Operator Manages the overall data space. Responsible for technical configuration, onboarding, and policy enforcement. Currently 3fs.
